Brian has been the Head Professional at the Seabrook Island Club since 2006. Over 35 years of experience in the golf business have shaped his teaching philosophy where learning new ideas and different ways to communicate continue to fuel his love for the game and the business. Believing in the importance of practicing correct pre-swing and swing fundamentals, he’s learned a simple way to communicate those key fundamental positions in a variety of ways with players of all skill levels.
Based on a student’s learning style, physical ability and level of proficiency, he uses a combination of video swing analysis, training aids and good old fashioned communication and demonstration to help them have more fun playing golf by playing better. Favorite golf book – Harvey Penick’s “Little Red Book” for his simple and easily understandable way of communicating the many complex movements and positions of the swing which lead to better ball striking.
Playing golf for over 60 years, Brian played collegiately at the University of Arkansas and now sincerely enjoys sharing his passion for the game with the Club’s members and guests. The most enjoyable part of his job is seeing the “wow, I’ve never done that before” look on a players face after a great shot or career round.
